Christine MacFarlane/McFarlane was James Shaw 3rd wife i believe however i can't find proof of them being married

It might be shorthand for Cambusnethan which is where they were living in 1861.  ...

It was possibly an irregular marriage, which was not recorded.

Poor Law Application, Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, 23 May 1868
Christina McFarlane Shaw, 36, married, moulders wife.
Protestant, born Edinburgh, no home, able bodied.
Sent to poor house.
Her husband James Shaw moulder aged 48 born Burnbrae in this Parish, the son of John Shaw and Elizabeth Arnott, deserted her in Glasgow 1 month ago. He has had no fixed place of residence for many years.
Children:- James 11, Janet 6, Mary 3, Elizabeth 1 & 3/12

James SHAW 76 years, born Larbert, protestant, widower
Hawker, partially disabled, partially destitute.
He received a weekly allowance of 2/6 from 1895 until his death 4 Sept 1899.
His parents John Shaw (labourer) and Elizabeth Arnott, both dead.

By 1st marriage to Jane Stewart who died in C’nethan 50 yers ago. Daughter Jane born C’nethan 50 yrs ago, wife of James Gordon, miner in America; does not assist.

By 2nd marriage to Marion Hamilton. Son John born Maryhill 48 yrs ago. John is a fireman, married with 5 kids and resides at Craigneuk – pays pauper 1/ weekly.

By 3rd marriage to Christina McFarlane. Son James born Edinburgh 32 yrs. Married with 2 children, iron moulder, resides unknown, wife in Denny.      Daughter Janet born Carnbroe 30 yrs, wife of Jas Sutherland, painter, 3 children, resides Fulton Bridge Edinburgh.     Daughter Mary born Arlinton nr Newmains 29 ys, wife of Alex Wilkie miner, 7 children residing Dyke Head near Baillieston.      Daughter Elizabeth born Schotts, 27 yrs, wife of Alex McBride, miner, Cambuslang, 4 children.         Son George born Morningside C’nethan, 21 yrs, single, miner residence unknown, said to have enlisted.

Wife Christina McFarlane born County Antrim Ireland, died 20 yrs ago, aged 38 yrs. Daughter of James McFarlane labourer and Elizabeth Brown, both dead.

Why would the 2 poor relief applications have different bith places for Christina ? One says Edinburgh  other says Ireland ??
