Hello all,

a very specific request on one item:

Does anyone have access to the actual page image for this baptism?
Probably on microfiche somewhere but not yet uploaded to internet so far as I know.
The basic details have been transcribed into Births & Baptisms in FamilySearch and other common sites but they do not include the names of the sponsors/witnesses/godparents which could be relevant to my investigations.

I have had a topic here before, many years ago, on the subject of Ann Carrol (2018 I think) and I am wary of repeating history at your expense. So please do not go off on a journey through Ann's life, which I already have plenty of data for. I am only interested in the RC Church record if it is accessible, and the names of the sponsors therein.

Have you tried Durham Records online.

They have Catholic baptisms for Houghton Le Spring through 1855.

The DRO record names two godparents/sponsors. This is a transcription not an image, but they pride themselves on offering complete transcriptions.

I’m feeling guilty about posting DRO details on Rootschat at the moment (I have a subscription at DRO) so I suggest that you buy it as a one-off for £1.50, or buy 4 credits for £4.50 if you have other queries.

That shows that the info on FS was taken from a microfilm at Tyne and Wear Archives.

If you have an LDS FHC near you , they will let you use their pcs to see the images for free but the agreement they have with the record holder means they can't put the images online.

Tyne and Wear Archives will (for a fee not sure how much it is atm) email an image from their microfilm - see their site for how to go about it or, if you are in the area, you can make an appointment and go get it yourself.

Durham Archives (now at The Story) will supply a digital image from the original register - last time I enquired they were charging £9 per record.
