Still looking !
« on: Tuesday 18 November 25 16:27 GMT (UK) »
Good afternoon all,
I'm back looking for any info on Shasby in Kilkenny (1700's) if it exists ?
I have my 3 X Great grandparents as Michael Shasby (b1821-1878 Kilkenny) and Judith Scot (b 1825 Cork) and most descendants to me.
I have possible ancestry as :
Father : John (b1797 Kilkenny)(RC)
Mother : Margaret Wall
Marriage on 6th Feb 1814 at StCanices  in Kilkenny City
Johns parents possibly :
Michael Shasby and Nelly Donnel
Michael potentially born to :
Michael Shasby / Chasby and Bridget Brown
I fully appreciate that records from this time period are at best scarce nut if anyone is able to assist I would be very appreciative.
Have a good afternoon all, [Dan]

Thank you Kiltaglassan, I appreciate the links 🙏 I hope to be online tomorrow so will have a look then.
I have seen a few St Canices church records but most are so difficult to read, either the quality of the scan or the handwriting I guess, maybe both 🤔
Cheers, Dan
