It's just Thomas McKnight's parents that are causing confusion.

I can find Thomas McKnight son of George McKnight and Agnes Weir.

Do death certificates in England around 1867 have the name of the deceased persons parents on it ?

I'm happpy that Thomas has a birth in Moffat.  That his parents were Alexander McKnight and Mary Craig.  I thought that would prove that this Thomas was the one who migrared to Liverpool.  But it doesn't really prove that.  I think it's probable.
