Heinrich Jakob Johann Mammen 1879-1916
« on: Saturday 15 November 25 09:52 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find details of the family of Heinrich Jakob Johann Mammen. His name appears on the WWI memorial in the churchyard of the St. Mary's church in Buttforde, Lower Saxony (now East Fresia).

The memorial and burial record say he died 16 Feb 1916, age 37 (b. abt. 1879) at the hospital on Heligoland. I can find no record of his birth in Buttforde, but presume he came from one of the surrounding villages/towns and was resident in Buttforde when he died. The Mammen name was certainly common in that area.

Can anyone help with information on his family?

Many thanks.
