Burial lookup in either Ormside or Lowther - Donald
« on: Friday 14 November 25 19:55 GMT (UK) »
My great(x4)-grandmother's brother, Jonathan Donald, died in Little Ormside on the 2nd March 1868. He was in his mid-late 90s. I can't find a burial for him online, but then a lot of Westmorland doesn't seem to be digitised unfortunately. Is there anyone locally who can do a lookup of the Ormside burial register to see if he's there? If he's not, the only other place I can think of is Lowther parish. His wife Mary died in 1844 when they lived at Melkinthorpe, which I see is in Lowther parish so the family may be buried there at a guess?

He doesn't necessarily have to buried where he died. I have plenty of people in my tree who died in one place but were buried in another. As I say they used to live at Melkinthorpe, which is where his wife died, so it's not out of the realms of possibility that he was buried alongside her if she's there. When I looked at parish maps on Genuki, it had Melkinthorpe in Lowther parish.
