I too have been looking at that Beatrice, Debra.
In 1911, she is living in west Auckland with her aunt and uncle, George and Eliza Snaith - transcribed as Smith on one site.

A bit of an update for all you kind Rootschatters who have been trying to solve this mystery/brick wall for me…
I notice that there is in fact a Jan 1931 marriage in Lanchester for an Elizabeth Beatrice SNAITH to an Ernest BURTON.  Which rather puts an end to the idea that this woman became the wife of Walter ROBINSON in the Richmond area.
As well as this I’ve this morning received the 8th Sept 1927 birth certificate of George Keith ROBINSON that gives his mother’s name as Beatrice Muriel ROBINSON formerly SNAITH.
Sending us along another trail…
Keith
…and I’ve had another look - the 1939 Electoral Roll gives Beatrice’s birthdate as 24th June 1893, whereas the GRO death index gives it as 24th June 1894.  More confusion…

Dundee,
I greatly fear that I have rather ignored your considered post earlier on this thread, busily chasing my own tail and coming face to face with nothing but dead ends.  I’ve looked back at that 1939 Electoral Roll entry and see that Beatrice gives her birth date as June 24th 1893, whereas the GRO death entry in 1973 it is a 24th June 1894 entry.
Very recent input from a family memory suggests strongly that the West Hartlepool location could well be where Beatrice started life.  Entirely possible then, if with that August 1892 baptism, Beatrice could well have come into the world on the 24th June - but in 1892.  Perhaps need to send away for that birth cert now.
With confusion in later years about the exact year of her birth, but day and month somehow clearly marked and remembered…
