GRAHAM
« on: Monday 10 November 25 10:56 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any relatives of Alexander Banks Graham (1904-1974) he died at  153 Carnwadric Road, Glasgow.  He was a widow, his wife Catherine Margaret Glendinning having died in 1949 at 5 Millroad Street, Glasgow.  I know of one son Alexander (1931-1988) but do not know any information on him or if he had any siblings.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

The marriage was 1934 Inverness - but you have 1931 as the son's birthyear

There is a 1929 Graham/Glendinning marriage in Hawick on SP

Do you have the 1988 death cert confirming parents names

I have ordered the death certificate but on Alexander Banks Graham death certificate he does have a son Alexander Graham who was the witness.   Alexander Banks Graham and Catherine Glendinning lived in Peterhead in 1931 then moved to be part of the caretaking team at Overdale Camp, Latheron.  Hopefully the death certificate will arrive shortly.  Thanks.

Hi
There are school records for a Port Elphanstone School
Alexander Banks Graham born 15.11.1904
Jane Banks Graham born 12.11.1902  Guardian is a Mr Donald West House.

If this is your chap then he is son of James Fraser Graham 1868-1910  and Jane Balfour Banks 1866-1942.
The couple had a very large family besides Alex and Jane.
Isabel Banks Graham 1889 ,Francis Banks G 1890,Jessie 1892,James 1894,Margaret 1896 ,George 1897,Alfred 1900 and Ann Dey Graham 1909.
They lived in Berry st Aberdeen and James was a comb maker.

Given the number of siblings I'd assume quite a few relatives out there.

Thank you ciderdrinker that is the family.  I am finding it hard to find the family once they move to Glasgow.  I have tried to find obituaries for them in Glasgow in the hope of widening the search but haven't found any as yet.  Thanks.

Doesn't look as if Alexander b 1931 had any siblings.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Thanks Forfarian.  I am hoping that his death certificate when it arrives will either lead me on in my research if he was married or the search ends with him.

Finally received a copy of the death certificate of Alexander Banks who died in 1988.  He was married to Bridget Manley in 1952 and had two children.  Now my new tasks begins to try and trace them and any family that they may have.  Thanks everyone for your help and if anyone knows of them please can you let me know, thanks.

Are the two Graham children dead?
If these two children are still living, you will need to remove them from your post #7.
