Jute Factory Thomas Bell Dundee

Can anyone help with my query please?

In the 1921 Census my Grandmother (Charlotte Stewart Wallace b 1899) lived at 43 Balgay Street as a boarder aged 22. Her employment was listed as Jute Spinner at Thomas Bill factory (I think that's the right surname) Could anyone help and give me a location of where the factory was locate in Dundee please, and are there any records available for the employees

I think a sticky notice saying "Have you tried Google and AI before posting a question" would help a lot of people.

Women were the wealthy ones in Dundee, they made the men redundant on a regular basis, so they would not have employment rights, or some such. I forget where I read that. I think it might have been when I visited here.

Dundee University Archives hold the records of Thomas Bell and Sons [ref. MS 66/1].  These include  minute books, letter books, ledgers, shareholding records and tradesmen's time books.  It is unlikely that records relating to individual employees have survived.  Bell's Belmont and Heathfield Works were situated in Hawkhill, Dundee, and are long gone (demolished to make way for university buildings).
