Later censuses would imply that the other pair on that marriage reference Lidbury / Davey married each other. Possibly Registry Office marriage, can't find a parish record

That was the only one I was able to find but like Lizzie I could not find any further details online.

William and Louisa are together on all the census after 1851.

I can find Louisa as a single lodger in Newington in 1851, but has anyone found William in 1851? I wonder if he was married and the delay was while they waited for his wife to die.

LizzieL - please could you give details of William occupation, year and place of birth
it would make a little quicker to take a look to see if I can find him - thanks

Thank you Rosie & Spelk for providing the details, as you say Rosie his age is consistent on all the censuses unfortunately I have had no success finding William on the 1851 census  :-\

Spelk the detail from the 1911c that would give a marriage date of around 1851 for William Crawford and if I have the correct Louisa Crawford born Calne on 1911 inmate at Camberwell Workhouse, Constance Road, East Dulwich, married 52 years (around 1859)
Register of death Constance Road on 6 Oct 1911

A shame the marriage isn't online to view the details

Added -  daughter Louisa's  1851 birth entry would that be any help for an address and occupation for William Crawford - an instant digital image is available £3.00 from GRO

Keep in mind that the OP Joes Soap was asking what happened to Louisa's parents after their marriage and the birth of the two known children. Joes Soap may already know all the details about their two known children.
Thomas and Anne may have emigrated and left the children behind but unlikely. I had an ancestor who went off to "America" leaving behind his wife and children but I doubt if both parents would go and leave children behind.
Maybe they both died of Cholera or they split up or he was transported to the antipodes?  If either Thomas' or Mary's parents left a Will it might solve the issue.
