Spelk...Wiltshire marriages index 1538-1933 lists marriage of Thomas Partridge from Misserdine (incorrect spelling) to Anne Brown in 1829 in Calne.

In 1851 Joseph and Rachel Brittain are in the same house as a Robert Brown age 41 born Calne.

Baptism at Calne 2nd April 1809, parents Thomas & Rachel Brown.

A daughter Ann Brown was baptised 09 Nov 1806 - could this be Isaac and Louisa's mother and not the one bn 1803 that you have mentioned

ADDED

Thomas Brown married Rachel Silk in Calne

I have not seen an image of the marriage of Thomas but FindMyPast have a transcript of Shiperdine, Glos. which I take to be a transcription of Shepperdine.

Marriage in Calne 4 Feb 1829
Thomas Partridge of Misserdine in the County of Gloucester & Anne Brown otp, witnesses Harriet Mays & Wm Carpenter, the witnesses both sign, Thomas & Anne mark.

Possibly the transcriber didn't understand the long s.

Banns were also read in Miserden.

I believe that the children were staying with their grandmother Rachel (Silk/Brown/Brittain) in 1841 (As per reply 10).  It does not mean that they permanently lived with her though, Thomas and Anne could just have been away and were not recorded on the census.

When the children were baptised Thomas was a Labourer, on Isaacs wedding a Maltster.  By the time Louisa married William Crawford I would imagine both parents would have been deceased.

Thanks for this rosie99. Louisa married William between 1851 and 1852 (Louisa is 'Partridge' in 1851 census, but then they have a baby in 1852) but I can't find their marriage anywhere!

Both Thomas and Ann could have been deceased by then, but it is very frustrating that there is no sign of them!
