Found on an RCE to a 1938 Marriage
Can anyone tell me what this means:
The above insertion is made under the direction of the registrar general in terms of the 5th section of the act 18 and 19 Vict. c 29 1945 December 10th at Glasgow

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
