Annie Round
« on: Yesterday at 08:35 »
My Grandmother Annie Round (1879-1972) was married to my Grandfather Edward Bell (B1880) about 1904 in West Bromwich.

Annie was born in West Bromwich (1911 Census says she was born in Smethwick)

There seems to be a few Annie Round's in that area.  I've guessed (by looking at Censuses) that her parents "could" be Thomas and Eliza.  In 1901 Annie was (probably?) a Nurse for Birmingham City Hospital.

I want to send off for a copy of her Birth Certificate to confirm who her parents are.  But the form I need to fill in via the Registry Office website is asking who the parents are?

I know Annie's DOB from the 1939 England & Wales Register.

Can I ask for a copy of a Birth Certificate without knowing who her parents were?

Who did she say her father was on the marriage certificate?

They married December quarter 1902 reg. West Bromwich vol 6b page 1546

Getting the name of the father will narrow down the search.

Thanks for your reply.  I have not obtained a Marriage Certificate, so maybe that's my first step?  I have found a date of marriage for Annie and Edward Bell as 1904 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire.  I'll have to look at where you found that 1902 date?

There is an Annie Round daughter of Enoch and Caroline born Smethwick .

Getting the marriage certificate would be the first step.

Edited corrected  the family name

I agree the marriage certificate will give you father's name and occupation and set you in the right direction

The Annie from that family in Smethwick noted above was born in 1880.
