More German professions
« on: Wednesday 05 November 25 11:55 GMT (UK) »
Can someone please let me know the occupation of Friedrich and Gottfried.
I would like the first to be schuster/schuhmacher but it clearly isn't!

Thanks

Richard

Thanks very much, although that looks like Gottfried's occupation.
Does Friedrich Hermann Fritzsche have one as well?

Agree Friedrich's looks like Dr of Philosophy and something illegible. Certainly no shoemakers! On the baptism F.H. is described as 7th son.

Thanks for looking. You'll need access to Ancestry:

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/1587/images/31161_A003092-00100?rc=&queryId=c3e52487-843c-4396-8ab0-1f96c37052ea&usePUB=true&_phsrc=KcS25194&_phstart=successSource&pId=562912

I'm looking for Friedrich Fritzsche (master shoemaker, b c 1836, Germany s Gottfried) who came to London in time to marry in 1859. This one arrived in 1858 which seemed to b e the right person, but clearly isn't.

I have attached a bigger chunk of the document but I'm not sure it will be of much help.
