As I suggested above, there is no need to pay that amount of money for a NSW certificate.

Order from a transcription agent.  There are 3 I know of all of whom are reliable.
Here is the link to one.

https://nswtranscriptions.com.au/pages/our_services/bdm/nsw_bdm.php

The cost will be $20 or less. There will be a short wait.

It is disappointing that the informant on Lila's certificate was not a relation or a close associate.
However, the list may clarify the issue of the 3 men of similar name.

Sue

Adding
It would be helpful for those trying to assist you if you would transcribe word for word from the DC of LILA. Entirely.

OR even more useful, share an image of the document for us to see.

Oh No.. ::)
This woman cannot be a partner of MURRAY. Age makes it not possible.
According to this record Alice was born 1931.
So where is the error?

Ok,.
So Ada  Elizabeth nee McCREEDIE (variations) married Albert COOMBS.
there were children.

He died 1901 and Ada re-partnered with Albert COLGER.

There were children including Albert C CLOLGER.  36695/1906.

Albert C COLGER married in 1927 to Ada E JACKSON.at Balranald #9803
Their child was Probably Alice COLGER

So this Alice COLGER who married Emanuel COOPER in Not the one who married William MURRAY.

So you can take that line out of your folder.

Sparratt     12th January2026.

Hi ,
Over the last three weeks I have looked further into the lines of Alice Colger born C 1902-1904.

I agree with you that Alice Colger born 1931 could not possibly be the one who married William Murray in 1920.

I commenced with Edith [Ida , Ada] Maccredie.

I found that she had married Albert Colger in 1902.
Albert was:- Albert Cornelius Colger  Snr. Born 1846 died 1927

She was previously married to Albert ‘Wotjobuluk’ Coombes. There is a daughter for them Emily Elizabeth Coombes 1865-1865.

Now  young Alice at the age of 18 yrs married William Murray. I have that marriage certificate.

This certificate provides further information that supports other known relationships.

The marriage took place at Balranald NSW on the 3rd may 1920 -

with the concent of Alice’s father Albert Colger Snr, in writing.

William is stated as a widower age 44yrs labourer, parents:  William Murray  dec. and Kate Rogers dec.   from Deniliquin.

Alice is stated as spinster, age 18 yrs parents Albert C Colger [Snr] and Edie Coombes.

William signed and Alice made her mark,  It was witnessed by Bessie and Mabel Soady .
See attachment.

I also found a record documenting the marriage of Albert Coombs and Ida Maccredie -

“The Abstract of Births, Deaths and Marriages for Lake Hindmarsh Aboriginal Station
for the twelvemonth  ending June 30th 1884.  “
They are the first marriage entry.
See Attachment.

Albert Colger and Edith had 5 children.
1. Albert C Colger Jnr.  1906
2. Lilian M Colger 1910
3. Ada E Colger 1912
4.Stephen S Colger 1905
5. Alice Colger 1902.

I have deduced her DOB from the marriage date and her age at that  time.

Hope this is useful to the search.

She was previously married to Albert ‘Wotjobuluk’ Coombes. There is a daughter for them Emily Elizabeth Coombes 1865-1865.

I do not see that as a registered birth.

Edith nee McCREADIE and Albert COOMBS married in Victoria (1359 / 1884)

And had a number of children in Victoria. Easily searched.

The last registered birth was William in 1901

Edith nee McCREADIE was still producing children after her marriage to Albert COLGER and was supposedly 50 years at her death in 1917.

Two men who enlisted for WW1 service in 1916 stated her as NOK, Edith COLGER living at Balranald .
They were Alfred Jackson COOMBS –his file suggests this was not his correct name- and Willie COOMBS.

Hi Sparratt   Bitzar,

Now Beatrice Kirby :   1931-1985  see below

Parents are  :  Arthur F.S. Kirby  and Laura Murray 1915
Laura is the daughter of William Walter Murray and LiLa Lily Atkinson.
[NSW Reg No: 27041/1915  This is Moulamein  but Specifically ….
                   Speewa Crossing NSW ]
Laura and Arthur married in 1934. Reg No: 17888/1934.

They have two children.  Beatrice  Kirby
                                        Hartly Rudolph Kirby  1936 – 1973
Death Rec for Hartley: VIC. Reg No: 28740/ 1973 age 36 yrs  place Fitzroy Victoria.

What is most interesting here is the marriage of Laura Murray to Arthur Kirby.

This is a link directly back to Walter and Lila  Murray.

Now add to that :    Beatrice Kirby married
Albert Murray son of Walter  W Murray and Alice Colger   in 1941
      Reg No: 12836/1941.

This is a link directly back to Walter and Alice Murray.
I have not gone past this.
But these inter line marriages skew the DNA.

another connection seems to be looming  on the female side there is a Wise family and on this same line a Moore family - both could be connected to the above.

I now need to re read some of this thread .

Thanks for reading.
Essnell.

If Beatrice Kirby was born in 1931 (although their alleged parents -Arthur Kirby and Laura Murray- only married in 1934) how could she have married in 1941, aged 10? Did she die in 1985? Where did she die? Was her surname Murray or did she marry again?

William Murray and Alice nee Colger have registered a son named Albert (1921) and a son named Bert (1922). I think Beatrice Kirby married to Bert not Albert?
