There are a couple of school admission records in Sunderland for James Blenkinsop.
His date of birth was 8 September 1898.

Admitted to Bishopwearmouth Church Of England School (Boys) 10 August 1908
Parent of Guardian Fredk. Watson
Address 15 Hopper St
Previous school Bpwearmouth Infts
Last attendance 20.1.10
Cause of Leaving - Left town

Same school,
Admitted 8 August 1910
Parent of Guardian Fredk. W
Address 12 Back Elgin St
Previous school - Readmitted
Last attendance 3.11.10
Cause of Leaving - To Blyth (Northd.)

It may perhaps be possible that the info about parent or guardian was just copied from his infants record? Which we don't have.

Hi,

This is very interesting. Before John Blenkinsopp died, there was a record for Robert Henry Blenkinsopp (another son) at the Bishopwearmouth Boys C of E school, from 1897 (parent given as "John".) Then, in1899 John died, Eleanor moved to Blyth with the children and remarried to Frederick Watson. In 1902, a daughter Eleanor was born; and all of the family was living in Percy Street in Blyth.

Then in 1905, the family was in Bishopwearmouth, where Eleanor, the daughter died. In 1908, they were still living in Bishopwearmouth (15 Hopper Street), and then went back to Blyth. From Blyth they then went back to Bishopwearmouth; this time to Back Elgin Street.

But, on the 1911 census, James is living with the rest of the family at Gladstone Street. Lots of moving back and forth! Strangely, on the 1911 census, Frederick Watson is not with them and Eleanor has recorded her marriage as 32 years?! (It would have been 32 is John Blenkinsopp were still alive.) From 1911 until hear death in 1938, Eleanor lived at Percy Street in Blyth. It's very confusing.
