Marriage help please
« on: Friday 31 October 25 18:47 GMT (UK) »
Good evening all.

Looking for a marriage around the Broxted area for a Thomas Stock to a Sarah. They had children in the parish between 1700 and 1714. Plenty of trees have a marriage at Lindsell in 1698, but the bride isnt called Sarah. Other trees have her name as Sarah Marriage. Not sure where to go to verify this.

Can anyone help with this. Got a sub to the Essex Archives, FindMyPast and Ancestry.

Any help appreciated.
David.

Do you have any other information, such as the names of the children born to Thomas and Sarah?

FindMyPast
There's a 1790 marriage in nearby "Great Easton" - bride Sara Watts, s(pinster), groom Thomas Stock, w(idower)

Pl ignore - just noticed "1790"!! Can't blame transcribed "1690" incorrectly - no such marriage. Has to be too much egg in the eggnog.
Apologies

It seems that their son Thomas (b. 1702) is the one who married a Sarah MARRIDGE (MARRIAGE) in 1730.

This is one possible candidate

Sarah Wysbie (Wisby), b. 1672 in Henham, daughter of Robert Wisby and Bridgett Ballthorup, married in Broxted, St. Mary the Virgin, in 1664. All children born in Henham, St. mary the Virgin.
