James 1866 looks right meaning the 1901 aged 72 is his widow; died 2 months after son David born hence no further births whereas I had thought it was Eliza.

That is definitely the right Elizabeth mother-in-law, Emc4888 should have been able to clarify last reply when mentioned the daughter Mary.
Alexander McMahon married Mary E Shaw in Saintfield R.C. Chapel 21 Nov 1888, both of Leggygowan & stating father = James Shaw, labourer, deceased.
