Benbow family of Cornwall
« on: Wednesday 29 October 25 05:34 GMT (UK) »
I have recently discovered that my G. Grandfather had several older siblings (which I had always thought).  One was Jane Tippett b. 1802 who married Francis Benbow in 1824.  He was born 1805. They had ten children between 1825 and 1846.  Children were Jane, Francis, Mary Ann, Grace, Thomas, a male unnamed child, Richard, Honour Hanna, John and William.  The family lived in Cornwall in or near the vicinity of Gwennap in Cornwall.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Are you looking for the Tippett or Benbow families?

After Jane Benbow dies 1850 her sister Susanna becomes the housekeeper for the family -1851 census.

There is no daughter Hanna  born 1840 ( I know it's Hanna 1841 but she was registered as Honour see GRO Index and 1851 census.

Thank you to everyone, the information has been a great help.  It was the Benbow family I hoped to learn more about, but the Tippett info confirms what I had been recently told, which is really great. I knew there had to be more children born after 1802 when Thomas and Grace married and before their sons John and Benjamin were born in 1826 and 1828!
