Famine times near Kilkelly Ireland 1845 -1850
« on: Monday 27 October 25 18:58 GMT (UK) »
I am interested in learning more about how the tenant farmers in the townland of Woodfield and Derrynanned faired during the famine period.  Hoping to be directed to primary sources, or any information you may have for me to be able to understand more fully the famine impact on this particular location  Many thanks  John C .
book project "Finding Kate and Willie" underway. Trying to learn all about their lives and those of their parents and grandparents in County Mayo, townlands of Woodfield and Derrynaned ( Cahir ) from approx 1870 to 1920.  Kate and Willie left for USA in 1911 and settled in the Bronx NY. I am their grandson.
