I’m new to this site, confused ,   I’ve seen an entry by someone called “silverstealth “. that he has a database of staff at Menston Asylum, I’ve looked on the website he quotes and found no databases, how do I contact him for an answer to the issue.    Leslie.

You will be able to send the user a Private Message (PM) once you have three posts. Perhaps reply to this message thanking me,  and then post the suggested link in another message – someone else may be able to help then, as well as you being able to contact silverstealth.

Added: you could also try putting Menston into the search bar at the top of the rootschat page – there may be other posts that would help

Thankyou for your reply,  I still find this a complicated site, why isn’t there a reply button on your reply, I have to guess the right way to go!  What do I do now, you said a suggested link ??

Silverstealth has not been online with Rootschat since March 2011 & has not replied to any of the replies on the above post.

I have sent a pm to him directing him to this post but if his email address has changed then he won't receive it

The standard way to reply is just to reply to the thread (button at the bottom of the thread) but if you need to signal what you are replying to you can do what I have done here and quote the post then add your text beneath the quote. You can trim the quoted text if you wish, just make sure that you leave the quote and /quote tags intact around what you want to leave in.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
