So might the uniformed photo be his son John, who was an officer in the RAMC?

I've been checking and according to my notes his grandson Peter sent me that photo. Had it been his father John (AKA Jack) he would have known the difference I would have thought... I don't have a photo of Jack as a young man to compare though, I did once write to Jack to ask him about family history but he wasn't interested, he just said 'Good Luck'...

When Gordon's son was alive he sent me this.....

It states after they married they moved to Little Aston ... and set up practice as a country GP.

No where in his recall of events does it say his father went to war.

What you say is interesting...

I have lost contact with Peter, Jacks (John) son.. I am trying to re connect with him in order to identify the photo that he sent me. If the photo is of Gordons son Jack then the likeness to his father is very pronounced.
