As I recall doing DNA tests is not allowed in France so maybe it is a legal thing with the French government not allowing it.
Might also be something to do with Brexit?

I do not think it is for either of these reasons, Spelk, I only started experiencing this problem this September, so long after Brexit and long after the French legal attitude to DNA testing.
