BMD Records?

I'm helping someone do some research in New Zealand. I did a search for a death record and I found three possible records.

Just curious. If they order a record will it give details of the names of the parents of the deceased person?

Hi Mab,

Yes, although only if the informant for the certificate knew that information. As this was/is usually a relative it is very likely the parents will be named.

I forgot to mention that when ordering they should ask for a 'printout' copy of the certificate. This is a copy of the original document, not a transcription. Much more helpful.

Have you got in information yet? It can get costly if you order 3. Maybe better to get an idea of date of death and place of death.

I figured out the date of death. In the end we decided not to bother ordering the records.
