Here is some information about Patrick Markey. As you haven’t posted any information about your Lynch family, I’m not sure how they are linked.

Neale, I don't know how Lynch and Markey are linked yet either. Kells is the area my Lynch family was in. But I don't recognize Markey or Murphy.
I haven't built out the siblings (sisters) for Matthew Lynch's father's family (Laurence Lynch and Mary Farrelly).
Laurence's parents were Patrick and Julia, but I have no verified information on them yet.
I have an Owen Farrelly (no other information yet) as the father for Mary Farrelly. They are in Cavan.
I am still in the early stages of documenting the family, and am slowly building back through the generations.

Something may crop up as you work through the family.
At least you know the names to look out for.
I'll leave you to it, Clare.
Just ask if you get stuck and need help.  :)

Neale, could you tell me a little more about the Markey family you've identified? They seem to be in NJ earlier than the 1920 NY Census, which listed a small Markey family on 41st St. His obit mentions living in NJ for 40 years. The Bayonne Times, Fri, Jun 30, 1939 ·Page 2

The 1920 location syncs with the 1924 Border Crossing form, where Matthew Lynch claims an Uncle P. Markey in New York on 41st Street. US Federal Census, Patrick Marky, [transcribed with that spelling, although the written name seems to include the "e"], New York, New York, Manhattan Assembly, District 5, District 0396

I'm having trouble with attachments being too large, and I'm at work, so I can't fiddle with image sizes right now. I've just listed the sources briefly above.
Thanks! Clare

My last confirmation of his residence is in London, 1954 (Electoral Registrar). My father saw him in person in London in 1952.

What was his address in 1954. Do you have this.

wilcoxon,
For 1954, I still have Matthew at 6 Belgrave Mews South, from this file on Ancestry:

City of London, London and Westminster, 1954,
London, England, Electoral Registers, 1832-1972 for Matthew Lynch

See my reply #18 re the Markey family.
I have given you immigration date, and dates and places of children’s births.
The family is easily found in the census.

Thank you, just that there was another Matthew Lynch around at the same time in Camden.
I found this note in a tree on Ancestry for Matthew Lynch , but  there is nothing more to explain it, it`s not much use.
1952 London, England
Per letter from Lawrene Lynch to Lawrence's parents Owen and Mary Lynch in Chicago in Anne Lynch files

I guess that the  "Lawnrene"  is Lawrence Martin Lynch son of Owen
Birth Date   6 Feb 1929
Death Date   25 Jul 2013
Cemetery   Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery
Burial or Cremation Place   Hillside, Cook County, Illinois, United States of America

Going off a bit, but I do tend to go sideways if I see something else that interests me.
In the electoral registers there is a Lady Lena Simson living very close. The 1953 and 1954  is interesting as there is a Hilda Pocock at the same address.  Is  Lena  the same person. Perhaps your Matthew knew this lady

Thank you—interesting—and who knows? It could lead to a clue or connection. Matthew did serve in WWI, and he often visited the Star Tavern in London, where many celebrities also gathered.
