Oh I hate that, the jumping  from character to character, especially if they are long chapters it  makes it difficult to follow the main thread of the book.

Off to bed now, it’s half an hour past my usual time, so good night.

Son has fixed the alarm it was the back up battery ,BUT - the alarms are outdated , ought to have been replaced in March but the builders left no info at all so I had no idea they were outdated ,ought to have been replaced in March .One in kitchen and one on the landing .
So new ones needed ,he will get some for me ,the fitting will be pretty much the same I think.
I need a new much shorter bath , getting too difficult to get out of nowadays..Mine is Really big mainly I think because there are two shower heads - a very big fixed one and a smaller that can be hand held if necessary .
The big one would spray over the far edge of the bath.I never use that.

Well old faithful pressure cooker has come up trumps again a nice “chuck everything in “beef stew .
Easy to warm up when son arrives back this early evening .

Look after yourselves ,nice to read all your news.

Please check with your local fire station, locally here they will check your alarms, very pleasant chaps, give it a try.

I  must admit I am having problems getting  out of the bath, nothing to do with the length it is arm strength,  my days are numbered  having a bath.

I had a pressure cooker years ago but when they spoke about aluminium  I got rid of if, the new models I find are quite complicated  and to big now.

Rained today  and miserable,  ah well, time of year.

Take care everyone

Viktoria, take LMs advice and contact your local fire service about your alarms, here they replaced all mine with new versions several years ago,.they are more than happy to to do it especially for us oldies, it’s quite free.

Well new ones like I have are £40 +,both need replacing as now out of date .
So the battery ones will be cheaper but I will approach the Fire Service.
My new garden access gate for the mobility scooter is £1,750 for the little drive way ramp ,the one my sons did was good but far too steep ,it must be at most one foot in five, better one in six .
Will be ok when finished ,it is neat and tidy .
It has involved moving a lot of permanent garden features but is not ugly or an eyesore.

So a bit of economy now ,as I really feel a smaller bath will be more safe .
I once found one for my husband with a built in seat but he refused to have
it , preferred to shower ,I get unsteady in the shower .
Many thanks.Viktoria.
