It is so easy to do things instinctively, so please do take very great care and take things easy for the next few weeks., and THINK before you ACT. The time will soon pass and you will be back to something more like normal.
Best wishes for a good recovery .  rj

Hi Viktoria

Take it steady and recover well !

LM, I noticed your reference to no potatoes. I can't have a meal without a few new potatoes with my fish or steak and vegetables, because I would get hungry too quickly as well.

Regarding this hunger and awful cold problem, I managed to shake it off after about 20 months.

I'd be up at 4 am, preparing carrots and cooking them with Green beans and peas, or having cheddar cheese on cream crackers, or making organic porridge in the saucepan, anything to quell the hunger like pain!

I can get through some nights now without wanting to eat in the night.

There was a Lab report that the virus is getting into the bacteria in the digestion system and interfering with our gut, so the right foods and eating enough seems really important.

The last time I went to the Doctors they were actually offering advice on which foods to eat, although I was already eating all of them for several years, but I had been seeing a Gastroenterologist for a while 2 years ago.

Yes, the outside temperature changes this Autumn are a real nuisance.

All the best and hope to hear of improvement  :)

Added:
My Dad in the Care Home had this hunger like problem start last year and we noticed the Care Home were giving him a mug of milk mid-morning.

See what the G.P. says, if the problem persists.

Mark

Morning all
Such a dull morning today and still rather dark and gloomy when I got up at around 7.45.  Today will be devoted to cleaning, as we have visitors coming in the next few days. Significant birthday celebrations for my daughter on Thursday and flu/Covid injections for us on Saturday, followed by a Choir and Cake concert later in the day.  Singing really is the best medicine!  I come home from choir practice feeling full of life, but the trouble then is that I find it difficult to wind down and go to sleep.  I also feel rather hungry and have to make some hot chocolate and a slice of toast.

Viktoria
I hope your recovery from the operation is progressing well.  Look after yourself and let others take the strain.  You'll soon be back to your normal busy self.

Many thanks folks. Yes,one week gone already after tomorrow.

Tesco delivery this afternoon ,so all stocked up.
Son back at weekend .

Need to go to Bury Town Hall, for The Mayor to sign a form to verify I am still alive to get my Belgian Widow’s pension on my husband’s contributions he paid there .
I am glad of it as my British pension is reduced because for 12 years my husband did not pay to our system ,it was too expensive to pay both as there were health charges there too despite him paying the full cover , for Dr’s visits ,prescriptions and hospitalisation etc.

A dull cool day ,but not raining.
Young man just arrived to complete the opening to allow easy in out movements re mobility scooter .
He will also do some work at the front of my house where a little gully could be a problem if our weather continues  to be so rainy .

Flash Harry needs glasses, his reading began to deteriorate ,so eye test and yes short sighted -I have sent a card with animals on the front all wearing glasses,( which I have put on with black felt tip ;D)

Had a reasonably good night .
But am taking it easy as much as I can but daily tasks do need doing ,just the ordinary things ,tidy ups, bed tidied, washing up, meal preparation. Washing but only essentials as they are dried indoors as no arm lifting to the line but a clothes drier near the kitchen radiator is easy to use.
I don’t use the drying facility of my washer, ,they are soooooo very creased ,not sure about ironing just yet but son is capable of ironing his clothes but I generally do his with mine ,it is no trouble usually and I watch T.V . when doing it .

Well  bit of tidying up, I do leave things tidy when I go to bed just in case I die in the night! ;D ;D ;D.but I have been up a while so already a bit untidy!
I can do that in five minutes——-get untidy that is.

Thanks again for your kindness,- ioh something that might make you smile :-
I had to throw away my long handled bath brush, bristles coming out .Not got aa new one yet so now stuck a bit soooooo, I have an adjustable gadget to enable me to clean the bathroom floor to ceiling tiles without needing step ladders .
It came with five Velcro backed pads  which stick to the gadget.
I have one new still unused pad so yesterday I used that on the gadget like a back brush to reach the areas other things can’t reach , just a shower ,no baths as yet.
Easier than the usual brush as the handle is adjustable to be much longer .
Problem solved.
I refrained from singing ‘ When I’m cleaning windows”.

Thanks again .and very best wishes to all those having health problems .
Viktoria.

Just watching Alexander Armstrong and Lenny Henry in Shropshire .
Presently at Tankerville lead mine ,will perhaps visit The Stiperstones Pub next to Stiperstones School which I attended ,lIf they go back to Shrewsbury .the shortest route they must pass through Snailbeach where I lived ,.Alexander said Tankerville mine was the biggest most productive  lead mine in the country but that actually was the one at Snailbeach.
Quite a good little informative centre there .
So many memories .
They are now going to a rugged quartzite outcrop known as “ The Devil’s Chair “ I have been there so many times picking whinberries .
They are lunching at The Stiperstones Inn ,just next to the school I attended.
Lovely countryside and not commercialised - yet!
Ooooooh! Will I ever see it again , so few people left who I knew so well .
Viktoria.
