Elizabeth and John Tomlinson - multiple marriages?

To my knowledge, Elizabeth Tomlinson (unknown maiden name) was married to John Tomlinson (b.1792). They had 6 children, including my greatx3 grandfather, Charles Tomlinson (b.1831).

When trying to go back further, I have found that Elizabeth may have already been married to a George Brown, and John may have been married to a Sarah Hackett. - Not sure if these are the same Elizabeth and John?

I have not found definitive proof, and I am a bit confused, as this could affect children's birth dates and raise questions about whether Elizabeth is the mother.

Could anyone help settle my confusion?

Where was Charles born, I presume in Derbyshire 

There is a baptism in Belper for a Charles Tomlinson who was born 22 April 1831 and baptised 15 July 1837 with parents John Tomlinson and Elizabeth Tomlinson nee Webster.  A daughter Elizabeth bn 8th August 1828 was baptised at the same time -their abode is shown as Duffield
Also baptised at the same time - Ebenezer bn 1835.  Fathers occupation Nailmaker

It looks as though Ebenezer died in 1838

John Tomlinson married Elizabeth Webster 20 Feb 1812 at Wirksworth

Thank you, this makes a lot more sense as these were the names of the other children I had written down. Everything is a bit clearer now!

For interest, on the marriage cert John TOMLINSON and Elizabeth WEBSTER were both of Alderwasley. He signed, she by "mark". Witnesses were Matthew WEBSTER and Thomas TOMLINSON.

Possible Marriage witness Matthew Webster may have been bapt 10 Apr 1791 Belper to ARTHUR/SARAH
He was a Baker on Census.
1841 mistranscribed as Matthew Wokstes!
1851/1861 easy to find.
Likely married Martha GREEN 28 Jul 1817

ARTHUR Webster married Sarah SWIFT 27 Dec 1781 St Alkmund, Belper.

So very possible marriage witness was Elizabeths Brother Matthew

Just noted a Tree has Death Reg for  as March 1843 Basford.

That Elizabeth on GRO was age 43 so too young to marry 1812.
