I have a marriage certificate for John Baird and Jessie McGill . Im interested in what Jessie's occupation was.
Can anyone help decipher it .

It looks like "Cousin"

I agree with ShaunJ. It might be 'cousin'.

Entirely possible – John Barid was the son of William Baird and Susan McGill,  and he was born at Newton Toll, Ayr.
