Oh I hadnt come across that before. That is interesting. Would confirm him not really knowing his ages across the census!

I am not convinced that the fact he was illegitimate would affect him not knowing how old he was

He was always younger than Jane on the census

1851 Benjamin 45. Jane 48

1861 Benjamin 50. Jane 57

1871 Benjamin 70. Jane 77

A possible: St Mary Parish Register Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire
Burial: Benjamin Evans . 02 Jul 1877. 76 = 1811

Id seen that previously. Gives abode as Rhosmarket. Rosemarket possibly?

There is a Benjamin Evans age 66 with a wife Mary in Rosemarket in 1871, possibly him 

[Vasquez109]
