There is a John Walters reg Pontypridd March quarter 1884 mother's maiden name Morgan

Could it be he was registered as John but called George as his father was John ?

A copy of the will would give invaluable information.

there shouldn't be a problem opening the newspaper link as it's from a free site. Just right click on the link. Unless you have some sort of blocker. It's from the Western Mail dated 28 March 1884. Don't think it's on FindMyPast.
