nant y gioni???
« on: Friday 26 September 25 07:59 BST (UK) »
Hi, I’ve got a griffith owen born 1865 who married jennet born 1866 living at fourcrosses (abererch parish).

Griffith’s 1921 census says he was born at nant y gioni(?). Any idea where this is?

Earlier census says he was born in Llanbedrog.

His marriage certificate says he was living at llwynimpia ( mynytho) in the parish of Llangian at the time of marriage. His father was Robert Owen. Griffith seems to be moving between different farms.

I’ve been unable to find the Owen family when Griffith was a child. Ancestry appear to have a 1871 return for a possible family but the image connected to the entry is missing.

Any idea where Nant y gioni caernarvonshire is?

thanks

I think the place of birth is Nant-y-Gwni?
But still can't find it!
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Incase you don't have them -

The family of that 1863 baptism is at same address as bapt in 1871. 1881 they are at llwynimpia, same address given at his marriage, but Griffith not with family in 1881.

Edit - parents still at llwynimpia in 1891. Only father Robert & sister Catherine in 1901.

Thanks, yes, found that family. I had initially thought that this was an employer but the birth record confirmed these were his parents.

Nant y gwni is still a mystery!
