Nurses Uniform 1910s
« on: Thursday 25 September 25 16:19 BST (UK) »
Hi, could someone help with identifying the uniform in the photo.? I think this is a picture of Grace Nailard (later Davidson) in the 1910s since she was a nurse on the 1911 census.  Thank you!   :)

The building looks like the Royal Victoria Military Hospital, Netley near Southampton.

There is a Grace Nailard who was a nurse, start date 1 Jan 1914, end date 31 Dec 1920 listed in War Office: Directorate of Army Medical Services and Territorial Force: Nursing Service Records, First World War. Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Military Nursing Service.
From the National Archives you should be able to get her record from their series: WO 399/6120,
if you register you can order it for free online at:

Some of the uniforms on this Imperial War Museum photo of nurses from Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service look very similar, e.g. the lady on the right looking at the camera.
