The Rolls Cards are on Ancestry under Military

I find most Researchers looking for details of WW1 Medals only know about the Main Index Red Medal Card that Records the Pages Numbers of the Rolls Cards that the Inscribers used to Inscribe their Details onto the Medals.

1914/15 Star Medal issued 24 January 1920 are on Roll Card Page 614 on Top Right Corner of that Regt Page

British War Medal and Victory Medal issued 11 March 1921 on Roll Card Page 4051 on Top Right Corner of that Regt Page.

 instructions.  I was able to find it quite easily just today as I've been caught up in another ancestor's life!!

I didn't have any luck with the silver star medal.but that's OK.

Just a question please on the British War and Victory Medal page why are there so many ditto marks under each man's record.  ie 19th Welch R with " 19th " appearing 7 times?

Do you mean Silver War Badge  ?
If one was awarded the Red Main Index Medal Card will be Noted SWB with a Reference below the Roll pages noted of the Medals awarded.

Military
View All in Card Catalog
In Top left enter
Silver War Badge Records
Then enter Regt Number

My Rootschat Friend AllanUK and I are puzzled by those entries though we have seen that before but the explanation is not known and it wasn't just him that has those multiple entries. Usually entered when a Soldier changes Regt or Btn or possibly returns to Unit after Injuries?

There has to be a reason that somebody sat in a dusty office after WW1 on a trusty old Remington manual typewriter tippy tapping out row after row of the same thing.   I have looked at pages and pages of this particular document and it makes no sense unless it has some kind of meaning else why bother?  Why the need for the repetition?,
