Diary summary week ending 28th September 2025
« on: Tuesday 23 September 25 15:55 BST (UK) »
Hello folks , on to yet another new week, doesn't time fly?

Getting colder now, sadly.

Had a board meeting in the local hostelry for the Christmas bazaar, just 2 of us, executive meeting,  just how I like it, our new leader has some fantastic ideas to make money for the church, soon will come round.

Hope those who had falls lately are feeling more confident on their  feet , I know what it feels like to bounce on the floor,  not nice at all.

Visited PAC at hospital today (Pre Anaesthetic Check).
As this is the 4th such check this year, it was restricted to Blood Pressure, groin and nasal swabs, and weight (which I did at home).
No ECG required, and no blood tests.

All clear, and set for my 3rd bladder op Friday week!
The first 2 ops failed to remove the stone!  3rd time lucky?

Yes,I too hope all goes well.
Are you in a hard water area? We are lucky it is very soft water here.
My son in law in Suffolk has kidney stones ,that is a hard water area.
Such pain!
Let us know how you go on,and best wishes for  a speedy recovery ,
Viktoria..

Might be a silly question,  can you clean brass with a silver cleaner.
Due to clean church brass, can't find the proper brass cleaner.

Brasso and Bar Keeper's Friend are the usual recommendations.

Both available on Amazon.
And Tesco!

I think that would be O.K. L.M.
I would not use Brasso on silver though, silver is a softer metal than brass .
I find if I wash the cleaned object in fairy liquid it takes longer to tarnish but I don’t have big vases or candlesticks like those in church not to mention the cross and the processional cross.
Lemon juice and salt isn’t bad either but then the cleaned objects must be washed.
I like cleaning brass and silver.
Viktoria.

I've made sure I've no brass to clean - and the only silver on the house is the lovely old spoon the catfood is served with!Stylish, yes?
