I haven't found the definitive date that Davidson became Hartigans assistant but I suspect its c1913.

As May2088 and Jool have no doubt discovered, the Herridge racing stables are not viewable with street view. However the satellite view seems to rule out the house in the first photo as one of the buildings in the complex. I'm not sure I would rule out the third photo though.

There are multiple views of the Herridge stable estate buildings in this 2011 Planning document but I see nothing that obviously matches 1st or 3rd photo. https://development.wiltshire.gov.uk/pr/s/contentdocument/0693z00000Hx7l2AAB

Thanks for the summary, Sc00p. Can I suggest that the starting point for this search is the marriage of JFD'A Davidson and Hilda Louise Nailard in 1905 since the photographs seem to indicate a married couple. The cars (possibly the same one) in photos 1 and 3 also suggest the Edwardian era, possibly stretching in the 1920s, but I would say not later than that. The second photo feels later to me, but as we know that Hilda was living there in Hove in 1915, so that seems to pin that particular image to around that date, certainly before 1917 when she died in Blandford.

Back in reply10 rosie99 told us that Hilda's parents were living at 91 Church Street. By the 1911 census the widowed Thomas Naillard and his widowed daughter Emily Thorpe, plus another daughter Beatrice Agnes and Thomas's sister in law are living at 40 Church Street, Hove, so either they had moved or the street had been renumbered. As we know, today the house is 199 New Church Road. I'm guessing that the old man at the gate in photo 2 is Thomas Nailard.  He would have been in his mid sixties in 1915. Perhaps the one or both of the other photographs (1 & 3) are of Nailard family homes, although the annotation 'Davidson House' on the first photo, suggests it is not.

This is the Google Earth view of Needs Farm, Steyning, the Nailard family home where Hilda and Grace were born.  Again no street view access but I don't think it fits photos 1 or 3.

I just noticed that it's not the same car in pictures 2 & 3.  Bonnet shape and headlights....  A better scan of the car and left hand building/people in image 1 would be useful.
