I am finishing for today and hoping that I can get street search working properly tomorrow.  I am really pleased that you managed to locate one of the houses, well done

Thank you Rosie!  :)

I'm just having a walk around Woodyates, Handley, Dorset on Streetview if anyone wants to join me  :)

I've been there too this afternoon  ;D

I think the garden wall and brick detailing on the central chimney clinches it. And... Hildas Sister gives her address as New Church St Hove when registering Hildas death.

Is that sister Emily  Thorpe? If so there is a photo of an "Auntie Emie Thorpe" standing by the bay window w though.

Yes.  The DC is attached to a tree for Hilda on An*****y.

Newspapers c 1912 state that John has taken the 'stables and gallops' at Woodyates

The 1915 Kelly's directory has him as a horse trainer in Woodyates

If only the address was more precise  ::)

This is the main house at West Woodyates associated with the racing stables: West Woodyates Manor
Clearly it is neither the first nor third of the houses featured in the photographs posted so far. There are some other houses close to the manor house (probably for the staff of the stables) but from the satellite images, none of them look like the first house. There is no google streetview available as the area is all private land.

Added: Larger pictures of the other houses/cottages associated with West Woodyates here: https://www.francisyork.com/blog/a-historic-country-estate-in-dorset

On the 1921 census John and Grace Davidson in Ogbourne St Andrew (no precise address) have a visitor.  He is Edward Alexander Dell Davidson, John's brother who lives in South Africa.
Passenger lists show Edward arrived in the UK on 11 June 1921 and returned to South Africa in August 1921.  On his return journey his last address in the UK is recorded as The Box, Ogbourne St Andrew.  I can see a Box Drive (off Rockley Road) in Ogbourne St Andrew but Street View won't let me go up there.

I'll have another look later.
Robbins - Wolverhampton.
Spooner - Monmouthshire & Wolverhampton.
Warner & Loundes - Dudley/West Bromwich.
Dod(g)son - Heysham/Liverpool/Wolverhampton

Although this property is listed as being in Ogbourne Maizey, its name fits the address found by Jool https://www.homipi.co.uk/property/marlborough/ogbourne-maizey/sn8-1ry/the-box-cottage/
