That divorce document is dated 1936,

The earliest birth Fitzgerald  mmn Kirk I can see is Winifred I in 1928,  so she was saying as far back as that time she was married to Christopher Fitzgerald but obviously she wasn't.

Arthur Webster of Milton Street, New Balderton, named as correspondent a man named Fitzgerald who was formerly a lodger at the house. 

Petitioner said he was married on 10th December 1922. After a complaint he made about his wife and the lodger Fitzgerald, both left the house in January 1927 and he has not seen his wife since.

Evidence was given that Fitzgerald and respondent were living together at The Ark, Grassthorpe and a decree nisi was pronounced

Have you looked for him on the 1921 census or the 1939 register?  His occupation should be shown on one of the children's birth certs.  A digital copy is £3

Can't find Christopher at 1921 or 1939.
Incidentally Arthur and Lily had 2 children after her marriage, one died early at 4 months but the son Gerald Albert lived on but can't find him or Arthur at 1939?
