Montrose Cemeteries
« on: Thursday 18 September 25 14:05 BST (UK) »
Hello
Just wandering if anyone has details of burials in Sleepyhillock Cemetery in Montrose.
I'm looking for John Stephen Coull born
2 May 1908 and died 21 April 1998 in Brechin
His Granddaughter was told that he was interred there
Any help would ge appreciated

I’ve visited as I’ve relatives buried there.
It’s a big cemetery. Took me ages to find my great aunt’s grave despite the fact I’d been at her funeral.
Do you know if it is in the old or new part?
Might be worth contacting Angus Council.

I also visited there several years ago with one of my friends who had relatives buried there and it is a very big cemetery .There was quite a few workmen cutting the grass when we were there and they were able to help my friend find the grave
Might be better to contact the council as Kathmferrier has suggested to see if they can help

Try Deceased Online www.deceasedonline.com (I  think) -Angus Council has put most of its burial records there and if you contact them that's where they will refer you to anyway.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
