Hi
No, I'm afraid only the householder or tradesman in question will be named in directories (and rate books)

Another record?
Lancashire Sessions, Recognizance Rolls, 28 Nov 1828
Recognizance for James Stone of Manchester, Barber, to keep the peace
Sureties: James Swarbrick of Manchester, Joiner. Charles Woodward of Manchester, Warehouseman.
Ref QSB/1/1829/Jan/pt 5/68

Maybe its online somewhere.

Rosie on the 1841 census at Hanging Bridge Manchester/Salford. I think that could be her and her age was rounded down to 15 as she was born 1824.  Only 3 of the ones on the census were born in Lancashire I think the others were born in Cheshire.  I have found Mary Gentel/Gentil/Gentle born in Cheshire on a later census and she was widowed and living in Nantwich.  She also records she was a retired domestic servant.  I am beginning to think that on the 1841 they were all in service?

You gave me 2 reference numbers how do I find them on FS it's the only site I have

Sorry I can't locate them on FS in 1841.  Edward Gentel was an Eating House Keeper born c1806, Ann was listed as F.S

Hello Rosie thanks for the help I have been given quite a lot of rate books and rent books and also a 1828 court thing for Jas/James Stone.  On the 1832/1833 book it is in his wife Ellen's name.  I have not located their marriage.  I also looked at Ann's children with William Foulds but can't find them on census either.  William died in 1848 but the children should have still been on census with their mother in 1851 but there's nothing.  Can't find any census for Jas/James Stone and Ellen.  The family are a complete mystery.

When they married in 1849 they gave their address as 15 Angel Street, they are not at that address in 1851.  A lot of the 1851 for Manchester is damaged and not legible.

It is likely that she had separated from Daniel and both declared themselves as widowed as divorce would not be an option.

Oh dear - Angel Street appears to be a part of Angel Meadow - a renowned slum area of Manchester
