Reply #2  "The libraries in East Yorkshire have free access to both Ancestry and Findmypast"

Many library services have this access, but the Library Editions exclude access to members' trees and possibly a few other things.  However they are well worth using.  Just make a "to do" list beforehand and take a memory stick to copy your downloads.

At my local library it's called Ancestry Library Edition?
Is it the same thing?
It's explained here: Ancestry

It maybe mentioned, but it's not explained?

Ancestry Institution™
In addition to personal accounts, Ancestry® is also available to many organizations.

AncestryClassroom™

Ancestry currently offers a K12 Grant Program for accredited U.S. schools. If your school is not fully accredited, is not a K12 location, or is outside the U.S., we have other options available.

AncestryLibrary®
For organizations that aren’t eligible for AncestryClassroom™, we offer the AncestryLibrary® edition. AncestryLibrary is distributed via ProQuest.

It's not all access, it's world membership.

No military, no newspapers . Not worth it.
All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

Hi
Sorry if this is quibbling, but the military and newspaper records you refer to are distinct and separate websites....even if the records are provided by Ancestry.
