A nice day here ,mild snd sunny.
Got an appointment for my shattered teeth due to a cube of mango or melon in Granola, very hard like a stone, removed a filling, shattered another tooth and another filling came out.
I feel like suing Jordan’s.! it will cost a fortune!
I need to have it all done ,preferably before the pacemaker ,the drills are not supposed to upset the pacemaker but the sonic cleaning process can,so I won’t have that done.

Hope all are alright, I know many have health issues ,but if we are optimistic and can get around in our own homes ,at least we have some quality of life.
Many would envy us.

Got a parcel with a spare part for a little quick whizz around electric carpet sweeper,s glorified Ewbank thingy ,the handle broke ,sent for  another but the wrong one sent —- ages on the phone, they ( Gtech) will send the correct one and I can return the wrong one free of charge !
I have had it at least 15 years,,so handy.

Young man who did my gardens has phoned today with the estimate for the proper ramp ,he had been sending Voice mails———-what are those!

Well, bedtime and a not so good book, Ihave to keep
Looking at the first part to see who is who,it chops and changes from the present to the past——-
Night night. Viktoria.

0h dear Viktoria,  very expensive granola,  I lost a filling from we
W******x a few years ago, the dentist didn't believe me but I did, I needed more milk with it.

I saw a friend of mine yesterday who had a pacemaker fitted 2 weeks ago, he is 88, he has done well , so please don't worry, or try not to, you will be as fit as a fiddle within a short space of time, yes you will  be restricted but it won't be for long, we will  be thinking of you.

My nerves were shattered yesterday,  I haven't been out with my husband on a long journey  since I had my accident, well I did yesterday,  he drove like Sterling  Moss, think it will be sometime  before I do another long journey with him, no wonder I can't sleep.

I hope today will be as nice a day as yesterday was.

Take care

Hurray, I've found that I can now get travel insurance after having my pacemaker fitted!  (After suffering from syncope 18 months ago the travel companies had refused to cover me.)  Of course it will cost about three times as much as we had to pay last time. We are very busy planning our next trip abroad, rather hastily, because Stena Line are offering big discounts on Channel crossings till the end of September.  We always take our car, so that we have freedom of movement when abroad.....and I hate airports!

Wa hoo!, the skies is the  limit as they say Dillg, well not the sky for you but you know what I mean.

My passport is  now out of date but we aren't going  to flying  anywhere now, my husband couldn't cope with the airport now, don't think I can but one place I would like to go back to is Jersey,  spent our honeymoon there 61 years ago, no doubt it has changed, they did fly out from a local airport but now it is the main airports,  so don't think we will bother now, just relive the memories and look at them photos now and again,  which brings me to another thing, I am sorting g out photos, got so many my daughter wouldn't want them all and so I am going to send them back to the relative family, they can do what they like with them.

Looking  to be another nice day.

I would love to go to Ireland, always thought I would but not sure now ——
The West,Dingle Bay.
I have listened to The Dubliners for years and years.
Not had travel insurance since my holiday to Spain.

A sunny morning and washing out including a new pair of son’s jeans, first wash before wear ( as the colour can run ), done by my own fair hands.

Just organised a boiler service, ought to have been last month but with going away etc it slipped my mind - as do many things these days .

Nice to read of your improvement Gillig, and hope you can organise a lovely holiday.
I just want to get to Shropshire and where I lived ,such happy memories and my grandmother who left to work in Manchester and to whose relatives I went first as an evacuee ,such kind people.
Later to non family people again such kindness .
I spoke to the son of the family at weekend , I would love to go back.

Well next load ready to be pegged out , in the sunshine.
Cheerio, Viktoria.

First foot on The Pathway today. The pathway which, hopefully will end with a new hip. A long process, which many of you will know, but which I hope will eventually have a successful outcome for me.

Good luck Jeff with the hip… I’m sure you will get the benefits it brings.. my OH did.
Looking  to be another nice day.

Snap LM we spent our honeymoon in jersey too… 52 years ago! We went back for our 50th and were able to afford a much better hotel than 50 yrs ago!
We flew from Southampton a 40 minute flight… you don’t need a passport , just driving licence and we turned up about 30 minutes before the flight…
I like those  sort of time scales…
so never say never…
we had a deal with Le Horizon, St Brelades that included the flight.. it was excellent.

Great to hear Gillg that you’re now able to travel even if insurance is more.. we love taking the ferry or tunnel and driving in France you can go just where you fancy.. good luck and enjoy your trip.

Viktoria- so sorry to hear about your granola experience… certainly a costly one 😬.. I inadvertently left a ceramic ball in a pastry case when baking blind once and my OH bit on it and despite the dentist having told him he could chew nuts and bolts on his implants it didn’t work with ceramic balls…. Consequently he had to have one out and replaced and the cost scuppered our trip to Venice!

Weather here has been lovely the last few days and great to get in the garden and start tidying up for the autumn…. Our neighbour has a walnut tree in the front garden and it’s had more nuts on it this year than ever so the squirrels 🐿️ have been burying them everywhere… expecting a forest growing next year 😂😂.

Take care and hope everyone is keeping spirits up..

It certainly is wet!  It doesn't seem to have stopped raining for a couple of days after a beautiful warm, sunny day on Saturday, when people were streaming onto the beach.  And it's chilly, too.  I have put my summer clothes away now and am reviewing my winter wardrobe before going shopping in the nearest city for various things that you just can't find in our country shops (unless you want to pay inflated prices at exclusive boutique type shops).  The rain was so heavy yesterday evening that we couldn't hear the sound on our TV!  Today it is just steady solid rain.

The grass has turned green again, after becoming almost white in colour.  There are still a few veg in the garden to be picked - leeks, some greens, though they have been well chewed by invading Cabbage White caterpillars.  Herbs such as Marjoram and some kind of late flowering chives are hampering my path to the compost bin and attracting insects in the short periods when the rain stops.  I have been bitten by one of them on my neck, I think on one of my trips to the compost bin!  There are a few late roses battling on.  Good old Zepherine Drouhin, fragrant and thornless, is still climbing up the side of our summer house.  It's my favourite, especially because of the lack of thorns.

But where are the birds?  The only ones we have seen around, apart from those dratted seagulls,  are pigeons and noisy jackdaws in a neighbour's tall copper beech tree.  Even our friendly robin has not been seen for a while.  Blackbirds, blue tits and sparrows are nowhere to be seen.  Our garden plants are organically grown, so there are plenty of insects for them to eat.
