Help deciphering signature
« on: Sunday 07 September 25 16:59 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help in deciphering this signature please.  It’s one of many messages and signatures on the back of a photo of a group of Buckinghamshire Land Girls.  It looks like it could be Boone but then the B isn’t the same as the B in “Be careful”.  According to the Women’s Land Army index cards there was an Irene Dorothy Boone in Bucks at the right time.  I’d be grateful for any suggestions.

It's not that far off - my thought is that you are correct.  ;)
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thanks for your reply BumbleB.  So do you think the initial could be an I or D?

Thanks for your reply Alan, I did think Doone was a possibility but can’t find any land girls with that surname.
