I need help transcribing the residence/townland for Ellen O'Hara.

Born 1 June 1834, baptized 8 June 1834. Roughly midway on the left right. Parents James O'Hara and Kitty Melvin

I have no knowledge of the area at all. The closest I can see might be Tullyegan, though it doesn't really look like that. I think it starts with "T" and ends with "gan".

Looks like Tualecca or Qualecca, perhaps?

Possibly Knockalegan or Knockalecca, with the 'Cnoc' for Knock shortened?

**edit rootsireland have Ellen's place transcribed as Cuignalegan and Pat's as Cuignalecca. A much later child James in 1852 is at the address Bunree.

*** another edit. Google maps has a Quignalecka beside Bunree in Ballina.

Cuignalegan isn't too far from Cuignalecca either.

What's odd is the 1833 marriage record lists Qualecca and Pat's 1835 baptism record lists Qualecca.

However, Ellen's 1834 baptism record lists Qualegan. Maybe a mistake, or maybe they moved? Or maybe (less likely IMO) it's a different couple

Qualecca would not be beyond the beyonds in terms of an anglicisation.

Yeah that makes sense to me. I'm not expecting perfect spelling.

I'm more hung up on the Cuignalegan/Qualegan for Ellen vs Cuignalecca/Qualecca for their marriage and Pat's baptism.

Quignalecka and Quignalegan are beside each other, either side of the road. See logainm.ie

It's quite possible someone used one instead of the other.
