Abbreviations

In all the years I`ve been researching I`ve never come across this until this week.

In the 17/1800s in "some" parish records of marriages it says OTP.

Am I right in thinking it means Of This Parish, in this case.

I'd agree with that conclusion.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

You may also see BOTP, both of the parish
Dinsdale, Ellis, Gee, Goldsmith,Green,Hawks,Holmes,  Lacey, Longhorn, Pickersgill, Quantrill,Tuthill, Tuttle & Walker,  in E & W Yorks, Lincs, Norfolk & Suffolk. Census information is Crown Copyright from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
