Hi all...was recently shown this by a gentleman who thinks a relation brought it home from WW1...between both of us, we haven't a clue the era or country it came from.
Any help would be very welcome.

Quick Google Image search is worth a look there's lots to choose from

It looks like a WW1 US Model 1914 Winchester sword bayonet

If you can get a picture of the stampings by the hilt it would help but AndyJ looks spot on - British Home Guard ww2 used them too.
