That means that he lived in Aberdeen at that time.

The attached looks relevant.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

For  research purposes here in Australia, we can access the National Arvices of Australia  and search war records.

Does the UK also have this research tool so as I can see if George served in WWw2

Hi All

There is a record for a George Innes in the National Archives at Kew'

War Office Infantry over age other ranks : service records.

G Innes service number 2873426 date of birth 28 March 1909 Ref Number WO 422/30426

Armed Forces (General Administration) Army Conflict Operations, battles and campaigns.

Perhaps one of the moderators could put a link to this on the WW2 board and perhaps some of the experts there could have a look for you to see if it says anything else.

Failing that if this is your man you would have to pay to find his service records if this is your man.

Yours Aye

I had contacted a man of Ancestery who had George William Innes in his tree.

His wife was related to his wife.

He tells me the family know Albert Henry Innes, 79 years old,  is still alive and living in Aberdeen,  but no knowledge of where.

So the search continue

Any ideas of how I could find him

Regards Jenn
