I was in Kippax and saw on the war memorial a George Frederick Firth 1914-1918 and just wondered about him and other Firths in Kippax
Handley (Huddersfield, Thornhill, Bury)
Hutton-Cornish (Huddersfield)
Firth (Huddersfield, Kippax ?)
Whitehead (Sheffield, Huddersfield)
Grater (Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Germany)

Have you checked 1911 census, or 1921 census?
Or even 1939 Register?
