Looking for Charles McLease last seen 1891 census Jarrow'Hedworth'Monkton and Jarrow,Durham,England, male, head, born ABT 1863 Ireland, spouse Catherine nuclease, children Matilda Mclease,Robert mclease.       So Charles was married to Catherine maiden name also Mcleese which I can't find either on free BDM,Scot landspeople, ire genealogy, family search or ancestry  Matilda was born ireland abt 1881 and aged 10 on census Robert was 5  and born ABT 1886 he was also known as Robert John Nuclease. He married Jane Melrose 1915 where it was stated that his father Charles was deceased His mother Catherine still alive. She apparently want on to marry a William Johnston as she died Govan Glasgow March 17 1940 can't quite make out if She was also stated as a Widow then for William or if he was still alive She was buried as Johnstone. Robert john was witness as soon.He died  1940 Govan just after his mother.I have looked at  many other census but no luck also all types of spellings of Nuclease. what I did find was a passenger list which sounds like Catherine.  1893 ship Colander bound Colombo Madras Calcutta 30th January. Mrs Lady Mcleece33,master 8,miss9 was she going over there to meet Charles, did he die over by there and she met William and married him there .can't find death of   Charles   or marriage of Catherine& William Matilda has also  been unable to be found if Charles was on jail would that have come up in the 1901thanks lnr

According to 1891 census
Charles looks to have been born abt 1853 (not 1863)

Have you looked at the possible marriage for Matilda McAleese to Andrew Munro in 1915 in Govan, Scotland?

... and her Death in Govan in 1950.

It is possible Catherine was never married.

The birth of Robert John McAllese in 1885 in Ballymoney
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/birth_returns/births_1885/02628/1969450.pdf
Father is Charles, with address is Knockanboy.
Robert John was born in Knockanboy not Ballymoney (Ballymoney is merely the registration district and Dervock is the sub-district) and the surname is McAleece here (not McAllese).

It is possible Catherine was never married.
Equally possible her maiden name was McAleece as it is an extremely common name in the area.

Just posting in case there turns out to be a connection. Marriage of Hugh McAleese of Knockanboy to a Catherine McAleese of Dervock in 1873-
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/marriage_returns/marriages_1873/11283/8139262.pdf

Another variation (one of many) of the surname is McLees (it needs to be searched separately on Irish Geneaology).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Yes aghadowey. I did notice that marriage, and the various children born to the couple, and wondered about a connection. I haven't taken it further as so far Inr appears reluctant to engage in communication.

Big error in original post (I did wonder about the name)-

Death on Scotland's People-
MCALEASE ROBERT JOHN, age 54, 1940 Govan, 644 / 17 / 670
Marriage is also MCALEASE.

Exactly what details are on Catherine's death registration?
