Edward John Wise of Chatham (1841-1903)
« on: Saturday 30 August 25 20:59 BST (UK) »
The Medway Union records show him as being admitted in January 1900.The medical officers report for admittance reads  -- "? his wife is ? up ? with her own son & others is inclined to be violent ".
Can someone please interpret the missing words ?
(In 1876 he  & his children were admitted to the Medway Union due to the illness of his first wife.)
Reading these records is,to say the least ,all a little disturbing.
I cannot trace his second wife in the 1891 census - she is Eleanor Wise born 1839 in Chatham.Edward J Wise is there in Chatham with the family ,but no Eleanor.
Any help greatly appreciated .

Hi,

Sadly, comparing the letters to those in other words that I can read I think it says,

"Imagines his wife is taking up im- morally with his/her? own son & others is inclined to be violent"

Poor man.

Regards,
Daisy
